In the United States alone 36.5% of all households have dogs as pets and 30.4% of all households have cats as pets. I am personally a dog and cat owner and can testify to the joys and stresses of pet ownership.
But what about the stress on our pets?
Since the time when we domesticated these amazing animals they’ve grown to be completely dependent on us; not only for their physical well being, but their emotional needs as well. Its been proven that our own moods and mental health have a direct effect on our pets. Our stresses become their stresses, and if you’ve adopted an older dog or a rescue you must consider the anxiety of the life they had before they were in your care.
Pets are members of our families and like any family member we want what’s best for them. As it turns out, what’s best for us to reduce our stress, anxiety and chronic pain is also best for them. I’m referring to CBD.
What to know about CBD for Pets
Research shows that CBD can help to relieve seizures, pain, anxiety and it’s even being studied for an ability to inhibit cancerous growths. Estimates suggest that up to 5% of dogs suffer from seizures. Most dogs with seizures are given drugs such as phenobarbital and potassium bromide. Sure, these drugs may help control the seizures, but they can be extremely harmful to your dog’s liver and other organs. And the drugs don’t work in all cases.
1. CBD Is Not Psychoactive
CBD (cannabidiol) is a compound found in cannabis and hemp. Most CBD oils typically come from hemp, not marijuana. In short, your dog won’t get “high” from CBD oil … they’ll get the relaxation without the intoxication.
2. CBD Oil Reduces Anxiety
Does your dog suffer from separation anxiety or noise phobias? CBD has been extensively studied for its effect on stress and anxiety. It can be effective for panic disorders and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)
3. CBD’s Effect Upon Cancer
Research shows CBD oil and other substances in hemp and cannabis may have an anti-tumor effect. It is even believed to stop cancer cells from growing and promote death of tumor cells.
CBD oil may:
- Help the immune system to cause cancer cell death
- Kill cancer cells by blocking their ability to produce energy
- Have anti-tumor properties that slow and inhibit glioma cell growth
The CBD oil helps with their pains and helps them to calm down. An infusion of bacon flavor means they’ll soon look forward to this pet CBD treatment as much as any bone or chewable snack. Don’t leave Spot behind when you’re enjoying the benefits of cannabidiol – take a moment to make sure that they’re living their best life with your help.
CBD oil helps with any pains and helps them to calm down. An infusion of tuna flavor means they won’t turn up their noses if you mix it in with their food or drink. Take a moment to make sure that they’re living their best life with your help.
